Nationals News (1/11/05): Newcomers to the national scene, former DEFSC member, Jay Lilly and partner,
Stephanie Segien are in 12th place after the compulsory dances. Compulsory
dances chosen this year were the Cha Cha Congelado and the Starlight
Waltz. Each dance is worth 10% of the final result. Next up is the original
dance on Tuesday followed by the free dance.
During warm up for the Starlight Waltz, Augie Hill, a fellow training member
with Jay in Dallas, collided with Jay and Stephanie sending Jay to the ice
with a thud. Fortunately, Jay jumped back up without any apparent injury.
They skipped the draw for skating order to allow Jay to be examined by a
physician, returning to skate both dances.
Nationals Update (1/14/05): Nationals for the junior dance team of Jay Lilly
and Stephanie Segien are complete. Going into their original dance, the team was
in 12th place. Jay and Stephanie took 12th place in their original dance and
free dance, placing 12th overall. Now the team can set back and enjoy being a
spectator.
We are all proud of Jay and Stephanie. Both are supporting members of Diamond
Edge FSC.
